Shotgun Series Console

This is another completed "Shotgun Console Table." It was constructed using hybrid mortise and tenon joinery. The legs are made from 126 year old framing lumber from a house near Prytania St in New Orleans. The top and rails were made from antique cypress exterior window casings from another New Orleans home. We estimate the cypress at 100 years or older, based on the square nails that I removed. Square nail production stopped around 1910.

It's finished with a multi-part finish of sanding sealer and hand rubbed finishing wax. The natural finishing process helps the piece retain it's old-world look and antique patina.

Materials were carefully selected from reclaimed stockpiles taken from demolished New Orleans homes. In many cases, details such as old hinge mortises are retained to add character and style to the peices.  Email me for details and prices.

Here is picture of the same piece, taken inside the customers home.

From the Customer:
Thank you so much!!! The table looks absolutely perfect in our home. It came out exactly like we wanted. Hard to beat custom made furniture especially when it is made as well as this piece is. Very impressed to say the least!!! You did a great job!! Thanks again!!
